New laws in L.A. California are causing some porn producers to scream in protest. 80% of all adult movies are created in Los Angeles and with the cities new law about condoms being used in any adult film the companies are screaming!. Porn stars will be required to wear condoms and the producers are even threatening to leave town. The law was approved 9-1 at the Los Angeles City Council.
This isn’t quite the leap that most might think as California law states that performers must wear condoms during any contact with bodily fluids.
The law goes into effect in 90 days and the city is deciding how to enforce the new law. Perhaps a new job will be created. Imagine going shoot to shoot and testing condom usage. Hi! We are here to check your rubber usage!
Steven Hirsch, founder and co-chair of "Vivid" states that his company has a condom optional policy, which allows the performers to choose to wear or not wear a rubber during filming.
I guess time will tell which adult film companies decide to move out of the L.A. area to do their shoots.
